and public safetyAbout the RoleThe Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead a transformative fundraising and revenue generation strategy. The CDO will be a key partner in driving philanthropic revenue, developing sustainable funding strategies, and shaping the enterprise-wide fundraising approach. This senior leadership role is pivotal in deepening relationships with individual, corporate, foundation, and public-sector supporters. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive, multi-channel fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major and principal gifts, and corporate partnerships. They will also lead a development team, oversee the department's budget, and ensure that the organization's mission and impact are effectively communicated to inspire philanthropic investment.Applicants for the CDO position at the company should be visionary, results-oriented leaders with a proven track record in direct fundraising and team management. The role requires a strategic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial individual with excellent communication skills and a deep belief in the mission of the organization. The CDO will be expected to have at least 7 years of fundraising experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a preference for an advanced degree. Experience in public media, higher education, or mission-driven nonprofit organizations is essential, as is a strong background in donor engagement and stewardship. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating the organization's mission into compelling funding cases, and have the ability to work with diverse stakeholders to advance philanthropic and partnership opportunities.Hiring Manager Title
