About the Role
As a Specialty Services Technician, you will be a key player in maintaining the reliability of critical healthcare equipment. Leveraging your technical skills, you will perform cleaning and maintenance on large hospital sterilizers, ensuring they meet stringent performance standards. Your expertise in mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic systems will directly contribute to a safe and efficient healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing concerns and providing timely solutions.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding preventative cleaning needs, scheduling, and equipment status, fostering strong relationships.
Execute sterilizer cleaning procedures, including chemical handling, pressure maintenance, and equipment repair, adhering to strict safety protocols.
Collaborate with the scheduling team, supervisor, and customer to optimize service routes and maintain service standards.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate complex problems to the appropriate contact for resolution.
Utilize company-provided technology (smartphone, laptop, software) to complete administrative tasks, documentation, and reporting.
Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and parts inventory in optimal condition, promptly addressing any issues.
Qualifications
Required Skills
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience, including at least 1 year in a technical or service-related field (e.g., sterile processing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive).
Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and smartphone usage.
Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Associate’s degree, related certifications, or military experience.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, with willingness to travel up to 50% overnight.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
