For Veterinary Assistants, after a year of service we offer a financial assistance program for obtaining licensure through Penn Foster's online learning.Duties and Responsibilities:Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.Performs departmental housekeeping duties.Admits and discharges patients.Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house and online pharmacy.Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.Administering medications to patients as needed.Placing catheters and performing blood draws.Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Wisconsin are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
