Host
Job Summary
The Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and controlling the flow of the dining room. This role is a big deal — you’re the first and last impression for our guests, and you play a key role in keeping the kitchen and service staff set up for success.
Key Responsibilities
Greet all guests promptly, warmly, and professionally
Manage reservations using our reservation system (Toast Tables)
Accurately quote wait times and manage walk-ins
Seat guests according to the restaurant’s pacing and table availability
Communicate clearly with servers and manager
Answer phones, handle basic guest questions, and manage special requests
Monitor the dining room and anticipate table turns
Maintain a clean, organized host stand and entry area
Thank guests as they leave and invite them back
What We’re Looking For
Friendly, confident, and calm under pressure
Strong communication and people skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy shifts
Good judgment and awareness of restaurant flow
Comfortable standing for long periods
Prior hosting or restaurant experience preferred (but we’re willing to train the right person)
Schedule & Availability
Evening shifts
Weekends required
Must be punctual and reliable
