Accounting InternThe Accounting Intern reports directly to the Assistant Controller and provides support to the Finance and Accounting team. This role assists with daily operational tasks, contributes to accurate financial recordkeeping, and helps ensure departmental efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general office and administrative duties, including opening mail, filing, scanning, data entry and preparing journal entries.Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Expense Reimbursement (ER) processing. Ensure invoices and expenses are properly coded and clearly described to support accurate accounting records, timely payments, and effective monthly reporting.Learn core AP functions including invoice entry, expense coding, approval workflow, and accounting treatment for various activities, with hands on exposure to the Bank's AP systems.Support department team members with additional tasks and projects as assigned.Follow all current departmental policies and procedures.Compliance ResponsibilitiesComplies with all applicable state and federal banking laws, regulations, and internal policies related but not limited to lending, operations, and deposit requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements, Financial Elder Abuse reporting laws, Sexual Harassment prevention policies, information security and privacy requirements.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBasic computer literacy with foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.Equipment OperatedOperates standard electronic computers and customary office equipment required to perform essential job functions.Use of equipment is required, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position has been deemed to meet the test for a sensitive position, and therefore you will be required to meet the minimum absence requirement each and every year.CompensationHourly Rate: $16.90 $24.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate will be based on job?related factors, including skills, experience, location, and alignment with the Bank's compensation structure.
