Fashion Designer (Commerce)

Roles and Responsibilities: •   Able to complete the execution of our brands with minimal direction of an intermediate to mid-level designer for the women's dress category in a high-paced environment •   Conceptualize, design, and develop compelling monthly product that align with current trends and brand identity •   Contribute in research and inspiration through shopping the competitive marketplace and identifying product opportunities including trend, silhouette, fabric and trim research and development • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from initial concept through production, ensuring quality standards are maintained, price-points met and taking ownership of the category •   Participate in fittings and provide constructive feedback, analyze garment fit + functionality •   Create Tech Packs/ construction Detail Pages/maintain BOMs + Update accordingly •    Collaborate closely with merchandising/sales team to ensure designs meet market demands, consumer preferences, and target price-points •   Partner with Product Development team to retrieve fabric/ costing and suggest alternate options to meet cost requirements •   Adhere to Calendar deadlines and expectations  REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: •   Strong understanding of the development process, knowledge of patterns, garment construction and finishing techniques. Strong attention to detail •   Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator) and/or Hand sketching •   Strong sense of color story, style and fit terminology specifically for women's dresses •   Strong ability to clearly communicate silhouettes and detailed garment construction through tech pack creation ensuring designs are suitable for manufacturing processes •   Create, maintain and update tech packs, sketches, design decks including buyer fit comments and design changes •   Ability to design within cost parameters •   Knowledgeable and consistently up to date with market/ current trends that align with our customers’ needs •   Ability to translate Sales Data and apply into design range and product scope within the brand's identity •   Excellent communication skills for collaboration among team members, management, cross-functional teams + overseas factory team • Ability to multitask with excellent time-management skills capable of managing multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
