PRN Regional Chaplain

EnCircle is seeking a compassionate and engaging regional chaplain to serve clients and staff in the Roanoke/Lynchburg area. This position will build relationships and support our educational services and disability services teams in the region. The ideal candidate will bring experience in community-based spiritual care and possess a giftedness in building relationships across a wide variety of backgrounds. The right candidate for this position will not only be comfortable working with people of diverse faith backgrounds but will help curate a culture of belonging so that the spiritual needs of all people are recognized, explored, and met through the work we do each day. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITES Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree from accredited theological institution preferred. One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education required. Ability to assess spiritual needs of individuals and respond with appropriate interventions. Demonstrates sound judgement, curiosity, confidentiality, creativity, and an ability to self-initiate. Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred. Valid Virginia driver’s license. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Cultivates relationships with staff and clients in assigned geographic region. Provides regular in-person visitation to enCircle clients and staff. Responds to calls for spiritual care with in-person visitation, or virtual when appropriate. Assesses spiritual care needs, develops, and implements plan of care in response to assessment. Completes visitation documentation and monthly statistics. Participates in regular check-ins with enCircle chaplain and peers for continuity of care. Performs other related duties as assigned.
