After School Summer Group Leader

We provide families with high-quality early childhood education; after-school and summer enrichment; job support, training, and placement; and comprehensive family support services and referrals.Position SummaryBASECAMP Summer Group Leader provides educational, enrichment, and social emotional support for 90 school-age children during our 10-week summer camp. If you are passionate about providing engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning and enrichment opportunities for school-age children during their summer break, this could be a great opportunity for you! This position is a temporary, full-time position and reports to the BASECAMP Manager.What You'll DoEstablish and maintain a safe and healthy learner-centered summer camp environmentCollaborate with other group leaders to co-facilitate lesson plans and engaging materialsParticipate in off-site field trips to expand participants' experience and access to learningCo-facilitate and support lessons with outside specialists and partnership programsSupport participants' social and emotional development and provide positive guidanceUse age-appropriate positive guidance techniques and model behavior for childrenDeliver daily lessons aligned with the Desired Results Developmental Profile School-Age&copy;(DRDP) assessmentFollow all program policies and procedures, including security and health checksBuild intentional and meaningful relationships with and among childrenCommitmentGroup Leaders will commit to work full time June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026.This position is fully on-site at our Bayview location.QualificationsA minimum of one year of experience working with school-age children in an out-of-school time setting requiredKnowledge and experience in youth development program and principlesExperience supervising and leading field trips, including on public transportationAbility to maintain boundaries and communicate effectively with school-age childrenAbility to connect with camp participants genuinely and with positive reinforcementAbility to motivate and spark curiosity and a joy of learning among camp participantsAbility to work collaboratively and cooperatively with peers, families, and partnersAbility to bend, lift, and move up to 20 lbsAbility to meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR)A deep commitment to aligning all our program practices to FACES values, especially around equity, inclusion, and belonging for all our stakeholdersStrong passion for and a desire to humbly reflect and grow in pursuit of our missionA sense of humor!
