Team Lead, Ocean Import, Chicago IL, Air & Sea USThe Ocean Import Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the import of goods via ocean transport. This position manages a team of import professionals and ensures that import processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of import professionals Develop and implement import processes and procedures Ensure that import processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner Coordinate with internal teams, such as logistics and customer service, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods Maintain relationships with customers and partners Analyze market trends and identify areas for process improvement Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws Manage and oversee documentation for import shipments Develop and implement training programs for the import team Educational background / Work experience: At least 5 years of experience in ocean import operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Familiarity with import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and industry best practices. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and communication skills. Proficient in using computer software programs related to logistics and supply chain management. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Supervisory Responsibilities (if any): Responsible for leading a team of ocean import coordinators. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with leading ocean cargo logistics software and systems Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and export controls Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules Language skills: Fluency in English is required Knowledge of additional languages is a plus Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with logistics software and systems is required At Will Employment: DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
