Agents (including district directors) arejointly responsible to the director of K-State Extension (represented bya designated administrator) and the local extension board. Collaborate with other agents, local unit staff, board members, andothers (as appropriate) to provide leadership for the followingActivities Developing the annual budget, securing extramural funds,submitting appropriate financial reports, and reviewing audits. Handling legal responsibilities of the local extension unit asdirected in extension law. Supervising, coaching, and evaluating agents and local unitstaff. Planning for office space, equipment, and technology. Assuming leadership for working with the Extension Board; localstakeholders; area and state extension faculty; and others todevelop comprehensive programming to address local issues. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with countycommissioners and other key decision-makers in the district. Sharing the impact of extension programs and initiatives withlocal partners and county and state leaders. Lead community vitality programming that helps our communitiesbecome better places to live, work and play. This will beaccomplished by engaging extension specialists, volunteers, andcommunity partners in a comprehensive process to strengthen thesocial, civic, economic, and technological capacity of ourcommunities. Support local 4-H youth development programming to empower youththrough connection, learning, and leadership opportunities. Successful extension programs require agents to: Identify local needs and emerging issues related to K-StateResearch and Extension\'s five critical issues (water andnatural resources; community vitality; health; developingtomorrow\'s leaders; and global food systems) by engaging withprogram development committees and other community organizationsand professionals. Design appropriate educational strategies to respond to emergingneeds and engage clientele by aligning with the imperatives ofthe [K-State Next-Gen StrategicPlan](https://apptrkr.com/get_redirect.php?id=7132524&targetURL=https://www.k-state.edu/next-gen/).Strategies might include educational programming in acommunity-based setting; events and activities that provideexperiential learning opportunities; use of innovativetechnologies; individual educational consultations; and groupfacilitation. Collaborate with local partners to meet community andprogrammatic needs. Recruit and manage volunteers to further the reach and impact ofprogramming. Develop and implement strategies to serve all communityaudiences. Collect and communicate evidence of educational program impact. Cultivate subject matter expertise by engaging as a member ofthe Community Vitality Program Focus Team. The district is comprised of Ellsworth and Russellcounties and has a combined population of roughly 13,067. MidwayDistrict is home to two lakes that provide recreational opportunitiesfor local residents. There are two medical centers in the district andquality schools in both counties. The Midway District extension directorwill provide leadership and oversight for the district\'s team of fouragents and two office professionals.**Location and Worksite Option**This agent will serve the people of Midway District. The MidwayExtension District has offices in **Ellsworth and Russell, KS**. Thedistrict director\'s primary office is negotiable.Work for this position is **on site** in the agreed-upon extensionoffice and at locations throughout the district.This position will require occasional overnight travel and is expectedto host and attend events during some evenings and weekends.Reimbursement for travel and subsistence relat
