Job SummaryA CRNP will function in the expanded role as a professional nurse, performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician licensed to practice medicine in this State. The primary responsibilities will include performing H&P's as per hospital guidelines, assisting physician in the care and treatment of patients within licensure guidelines, consultation as needed per hospital guidelines. QualificationsEffectively handles crisis situations in a non-challenging manner using communications and mannerisms intended to de-escalate the situation. On an as needed basis handles evaluation and treatment of inpatients for changes in medical and or psychiatric condition and provides acute care or triage as appropriate. Interventions are based on scientific principles, theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise. Works within scope of licensure and certification. Assists physicians in completing discharge summaries in a timely manner. Effectively handles crisis situations in a non-challenging manner using communications and mannerisms intended to de-escalate the situation. Assists the unit staff in crisis situations and keeps CPI/Handle with Care Training up to date. Participates in Seclusion & restraint as needed. Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to use appropriate techniques and procedures of seclusion and restraint. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, developmental, psychological, educational, and safety-related criteria based on age/population served. Follows Standard Precautions, Infection Control and Safety policies. Fulfills employee health requirements including, but not limited to, annual PPD. Demonstrates ability to ensure safe environment of care. Immediately addresses and reports safety issues using hazard/maintenance report form. Demonstrates ongoing awareness of and participation in the Performance Improvement Program such as completing monitors, attending PI meetings and identifying any PI issues as needed or assigned. Completes required education and trainings. Adheres to Department Specific / HR / Safety / EOC / Infection Control and all other appropriate Policies & Procedures of the Hospital at all times. Assists physicians in completing discharge summaries in a timely manner. Effectively handles crisis situations in a non-challenging manner using communications and mannerisms intended to de-escalate the situation. Assists the unit staff in crisis situations and keeps CPI/Handle with Care Training up to date. Performs H & P's on patients per hospital guidelines. Performs physical examinations based on patients age and history. Formulates appropriate differential diagnosis based on physical assessment and clinical findings. Utilizes CPC nursing standards of practice appropriate to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Participates in treatment team, coordinating pt interventions in conjunction with Physician. Provides a safe environment. Provides competent treatment to all patients including medication needs as directed by physician. Demonstrates skill and ability needed to provide quality patient care according to nursing standards of practice. Identifies and communicates abnormal diagnostic data to the Physician. Always displays a professional attitude and acts as a role model for nursing staff. Treats patients with dignity and upholds patient rights at all times. Assist Licensed Physician in medication management as directed by physician within licensure guidelines. Provides competent treatment to all patients including medication needs as directed by physician. Works within scope of licensure and certification. Requirements:Bachelor's Degree Licensed RN and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, meeting all requirements set forth by the State of New Jersey 3-5 Years of experience and 1 year Psychiatric Nursing Experience
