Materials Team Lead

Job Purpose
The Materials Team Lead will oversee the plants cycle count program to ensure the plants inventory accuracy is 98% or better. This role will also aid in establishing the plants ABC analysis annually, insure as new parts are added to the plant throughout the year via launch or ECN, that each part is properly classified and added to the count schedule.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring the negative inventory report; counting and adjusting as necessary
Publish cycle count accuracy metrics:
Counts complete to count schedule
Accuracy - Hit / Miss Gross $ adjusted.
Ensure that for any count with a variance outside of tolerance, a proper root cause analysis is performed, and permanent corrective actions are added to the SCM Continuous Improvement Matrix and tracked to closure.
Work the SCM to ensure that an accurate physical inventory is per Policy The count team is trained prior to the start of the physical The count is accurate and posted timely
Root cause investigation is performed on the 20% of the items that make up 80% of the variance
That actions to implement permanent corrective actions are added to the SCM CI matrix
Oversee inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place for the Planning team.
Design, develop and implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value.
Ensure strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required.
Ensure that professional and consistent material planning processes and interactions are applied across the business.
Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under deliveries, early shipments and take any follow up actions, especially in the event of material shortages.
Analyze material requirements and initiate appropriate vendor material release schedules.
Monitor Supplier and Customer past dues to ensure the best fulfillment.
Coordinate requirements, purchases, manage inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing inventory.
Coordinate cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure a smooth flow of materials.
Coordinate shipments from suppliers to minimize freight costs.
Communicate material availability information as required to Customer Operations, Sales, and Plant Production
Identify unresolved sourcing and pricing issues and communicate to Dana Global Purchasing and the Aftermarket Fulfillment Team
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, preferred.
3-5 yrs. in a management role
5+ years materials/logistics experience
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and concepts
Must be initiative-taking, detail oriented, have excellent organization, skills, have to ability to multi-task, and follow-through skills.
Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of complex problems.
Familiarity with SAP and Power BI is a plus.
APICS certification a plus
