Analyst/Senior Analyst, Credit Ratings - US ABS
About The RoleThe ABS Analyst / Senior Analyst is responsible for publishing and compliance reporting (e.g. reporting for SEC requirements). This position will support the rating activities in the asset-backed securities (ABS) group in New York. The ABS group is responsible for rating and monitoring bonds secured by autos, credit cards and equipment (among others). The position will be central to the team's ability to manage increasing administrative burdens while continuing to “get the rating right” on transactions and developing robust ratings methodologies. The Analyst is also responsible for organizing many of the group’s administrative functions as well as working on new-issue transactions.Job ResponsibilitiesGather, clean and analyze data for use in ratings, methodology development and external research publicationPerform analysis on historical financial dataAssist with preparation of committee memos and public disclosure documents such as transaction rating reports, including quantitative analysis and writingAssist with adherence to procedures and regulatory compliancePrepare compliance reports and company publicationsReview and apply rating methodologies to transactionsContribute to the efforts to automate certain manual functions (e.g. press releases)Follow, summarize and share research and presentations of outside market participantsQualificationsBachelor's degree from four-year college or universityHigh proficiency in ExcelHigh proficiency in PowerPoint and WordProficiency in logical, statistical and quantitative reasoningStrong organizational skillsStrong writing skillsStrong presentation skillsCandidates should have a strong worth ethic, an analytical mind and an attention to detail.
