This is where talent meets purpose and bold ideas become reality.We are seeking an Intern, Communications Phoenix Mercury to assist with the execution of public relations strategies and media relations for the Phoenix Mercury. This role will support business initiatives and basketball communications for the 2026 WNBA season.What You Will DoExecute tasks pertaining to communications operations for Mercury home games, including media credentials, check-in, and seating assignments, producing game stats, post-game notes and quotes, and other game-day duties.Assist with production of game notes and maintain updated player and team records.Assist with developing PR materials, including press releases, media advisories, pitches and briefs.Assist with media monitoring and compiling coverage recap reports.Provide on-site support at events including practices, shoot-arounds, game-day media availability and press conferences as needed.What We Need From Our Intern, Communications Phoenix MercuryAbility to work a flexible schedule including game days and nights, holidays and weekends.Excellent writing and proofreading skills.Strong attention to detail.Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills.Knowledge of the WNBA and basketball stats.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt changes while managing multiple tasks.Self-driven individual who works well in a team environment.Service-focused approach in interactions with media and others.Experience / Education RequirementsCurrently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's degree program in Communications or a similar field.Media Relations/PR experience preferred.Previous experience working in sports preferred.What You Can ExpectThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the Intern to optimally perform the essential functions of this role.
