Electrical Engineer
Arcadis DPS Group is looking for a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our growing design team supporting a local client in Santa, California. This role will require being in contact with the HQ team in Santa Clara, CA, for updates and project progress. Proven success with facility and systems design in the built environment, with experience in clean room, laboratories, advanced technology/semiconductor, biotech, pharma, or life sciences industries highly desirable.
Required experience with SKM: SKM is the leader in power systems analysis and design software for fault calculations, load flow, coordination, arc flash hazards, motor starting, transient stability, reliability, harmonics, grounding, cable pulling, and more. SKM software has been used in commercial, light and heavy industrial, institutional, utility, and petrochemical sites and facilities worldwide.
Experience performing engineering tasks as an electrical design engineer from concept design through construction closeout, including development of construction drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates.
Experience performing electrical service calculations, designing electrical distribution systems, designing lighting and lighting control systems, selecting and scheduling equipment.
Experience surveying and assessing existing buildings and associated electrical systems to document existing conditions.
Experience in construction administration (submittals, RFIs, construction site observations and documentation).
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and International building and energy codes.
Fire alarm system design experience is a plus.
Telecommunications system design experience is a plus.
Produce electrical engineering drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
Edit and produce electrical engineering reports and specifications.
Participate in team coordination activities with other disciplines, sub-contractors, and Clients.
Able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, cut-resistant gloves, and other PPE as required per the requirements of clients’ safety policies when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 5+ years U.S. based experience designing building electrical systems in the A/E and construction industry.
Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative.
Takes ownership of assignments, can work both independently and as part of the team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
Collaborative team player who can work with a variety of software, projects, and other individuals.
Local candidates preferred. Will entertain relocation for candidates with directly related experience.
Ability to provide legal U.S. work authorization documents required. Will consider U.S. domestic travelers and relocation.
Salary
Salary range for this role is $85K to $125K a year, depending on experience in the industry.
