Learn more at kilj.com.Position OverviewThe Information Director leads KILJ's news department, overseeing daily news coverage and ensuring accurate, timely, and engaging content across radio, digital, and social platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all operations of the news departmentGather, write, and deliver local news (Monday–Saturday), updating stories as neededProduce clear, accurate news content in both audio and written formats for radio, website, and social mediaAttend and report on public meetings (school boards, city councils, county boards, utilities) and cover electionsSchedule and conduct interviews with community leaders, organizations, and officialsSupervise and assign weekend news coverage to part-time staff as neededBuild and maintain relationships with community partners and news sourcesDevelop strategies to grow and retain the station's news audienceMaintain and update the community calendar on kilj.comManage news-related social media content (Facebook, Instagram, Spotify)Assist with commercial production, including writing, recording, and editingOperate and maintain station equipment; troubleshoot technical issues as neededAssist with live broadcasts, breaking news, severe weather coverage, and other station operationsMaintain the station's Public Inspection File in compliance with FCC regulationsQualificationsStrong commitment to journalistic integrity and professionalismAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamExcellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem‐solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailComfortable engaging with a wide range of community membersExperience in journalism or broadcasting is preferred.Additional DetailsFull-time positionIncludes some nights, weekends, and holidaysReports to the General ManagerSalary based on experience#J-18808-Ljbffr
