About This Role:In a company-provided vehicle, you will educate and advise students while teaching them the fundamentals of operating a car behind the wheelDon't worry, we'll assist you in obtaining the state-required driving instructor certification through our paid training program - we are pretty good at this since we have over 150 instructors in 7 states!All of our lessons are taught in a Coastline Car and recorded with a dashboard camera for the safety of you and your student.Our driving instructors have two roles to choose from when joining Coastline. We ask you to keep in mind the majority of the demand for driving lessons is in the afternoons and weekends as most of our students are on a school schedule. A typical day could consist of three, two-hour lessons with paid travel time included.You have two career path options at Coastline: Driving Instructor (Fixed Schedule)Driving Instructor (Flexible Schedule)Set 40 hours of availability weeklyTypically 10-29 hours per weekAllowed to work up to 6 days per weekWorks an average of 3 days per weekPaid Time OffPaid Time Off401K starts your first dayHealth, Dental, Vision Insurance availableWhat does training entail?Video Zoom sessions Monday & FridaysSelf-paced reading assignments on Tuesday-Thursday of week 1In-person behind-the-wheel training in a Coastline car in your local areaResponsibilities:Teaching practical skills related to all aspects of drivingProviding instruction on the rules of the roadHelping students to develop confidence in their driving skillsGaining control of the vehicle during emergency situationsDocumenting and reporting on students' progressMaintaining timely communication with your supervisor and support teamMaintaining professionalism with students and fellow team membersAttending team meetings for updates and ongoing development Qualifications:A genuine passion for helping people learnAbility to remain calm in a learning environmentA valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work inHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentAbility to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference checkMust have 10 years of legal driving experienceA strong safety mindset and strong reasoning abilityAbility to give clear instruction, coach, communicate effectively to othersAbility to focus for extended periods of time Physical Requirements:Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicleMust be able to see and hear during all weather conditionsMust be able to bend, stoop, kneel, touch, feelMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
