Provide a high level of patientcare and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Handles a variety of clinical duties fordental office operations. These duties range in complexity and skill, and all aspects of the job require anexceptional level of customer service skills and a strong commitment to working well with patients,doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance withguidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state in which they work.Apply fluoride and protective sealants. Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above andbelow the gum line.Provide nutritional counseling and self-care programs to prevent disease.Record and review patient medical histories.Uphold office policy including HIPAA & OSHA.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Order and keep track of inventory as neededOther duties as assigned.Work Environment:This job operates in a medical/clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipmentsuch as computers, x-rays, and phones.This job operates in a well-lighted, sterile environment. Employees must wear gloves, masks, protectiveeye wear, and clothing to protect themselves and their patients from infectious disease.Physical Demands:The employee frequently is required to talk and hear; stand and/or sit for long periods of time; walk; usehands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or moveobjects up to 25 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and blood-bornepathogens and/or physical risks, which will require OSHA training.Competencies:Communication Proficiency - Organizes and expresses ideas clearly.
