This role emphasizes electrical systems, controls, and automation, while also supporting mechanical maintenance as needed.You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, electrical system performance, and minimized downtime through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts. This position begins with day shift training before transitioning to and may move into a continental shift schedule.What You Will Do - Electrical & Controls FocusPerform advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on manufacturing and facility equipmentDiagnose and repair electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, VFDs, motors, and instrumentationTroubleshoot electrical faults, power distribution issues, and control system failures to maintain safe, reliable productionPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation systemsInterpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationSupport PLC troubleshooting (I/O, hardware diagnostics - Siemens preferred)Maintain and repair motors, drives, sensors, relays, breakers, and control circuitsAssist with equipment installations, upgrades, and electrical system improvementsConduct root cause analysis (RCA) on electrical failures and implement corrective actionsCollaborate with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime and system reliabilityComplete CMMS work orders and maintenance documentation accuratelyFollow all electrical safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and NFPA/OSHA complianceSupport mechanical maintenance activities as needed (pumps, valves, etc.)Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiativesWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance with strong electrical troubleshooting experienceProven ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment independentlyHands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and electrical distribution systemsBasic PLC troubleshooting skills (hardware, I/O; Siemens preferred)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsExperience with preventive maintenance programs and electrical reliability practicesWorking knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, drives, piping) is a plusProficiency with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, etc.)Overhead crane certification (or ability to obtain)Strong commitment to electrical safety, quality workmanship, and teamworkWillingness to train on days before transitioning to evening/night shift scheduleWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly payComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsRetirement savings plan with company contributionsEmployer-paid life and short-term disability insuranceOptional voluntary benefitsGenerous paid time off and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Opportunities for growth in a maintenance and reliability-focused organizationWHY JOIN US?At RS, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and improving the electrical systems and automation that drive our production operations.
