Selected professionals will apply their underwriting expertise to review realistic insurance scenarios, evaluate risk and documentation requirements, prepare structured written outputs, and support accurate, evidence-based underwriting workflow tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesProfessionals in this role may contribute to:Submission Intake & Risk TriageReview underwriting scenarios involving submission intake, appetite guidelines, risk classification, referral thresholds, and underwriting triage workflowsAssess submission packages for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with defined underwriting requirementsSupport structured review of referral memos, senior underwriting escalation scenarios, and risk classification decisionsIdentify missing documentation, required information, procedural steps, and expected next actions Risk Assessment, Rating & Pricing SupportReview exposure analysis materials, rating manual references, pricing calculations, quote preparation workflows, and underwriting documentationEvaluate underwriting scenarios involving risk assessment, quote development, pricing support, surplus lines processing, and state-specific requirementsPrepare clear written explanations for underwriting decisions based on provided materials and defined criteriaSupport structured review of commercial, specialty, personal lines, E&S, or related underwriting workflows Issuance, Brokerage & Documentation ReviewReview bind documentation, issuance preparation materials, broker correspondence, quote letters, referral memos, and risk reportsEvaluate underwriting files against documented rules, workflow expectations, and required-document checklistsCreate structured review criteria based on verifiable underwriting facts and source materialsMaintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted work Ideal Profile Strong candidates may have:3+ years of experience in commercial, specialty, personal lines, E&S, or related underwriting work at a carrier, MGA, wholesale broker, retail broker, or insurance organizationExperience with one or more lines of business such as property, general liability, professional liability, workers compensation, cyber, specialty lines, personal lines, or commercial package underwritingStrong understanding of submission review, appetite guidelines, risk classification, rating manuals, quote preparation, referral memos, bind documentation, or underwriting decision workflowsFamiliarity with underwriting platforms such as Duck Creek, Guidewire, carrier systems, broker systems, or similar toolsComfort reading and preparing underwriting artifacts such as submission packages, risk reports, quote letters, referral memos, bind documentation, broker correspondence, and issuance materialsStrong written communication skills and ability to explain underwriting reasoning clearlyAbility to follow structured instructions and produce evidence-based work Educational BackgroundA degree or professional background in insurance, risk management, business administration, finance, economics, legal studies, underwriting, or a related field is helpfulEquivalent practical experience in underwriting, brokerage, risk assessment, insurance documentation, or underwriting workflow review is also highly relevant Nice to HaveExperience with surplus lines, E&S processing, broker relationship management, or specialty underwriting workflowsExperience reviewing rating manuals, risk reports, quote letters, referral documentation, or underwriting filesFamiliarity with commercial lines, personal lines, specialty lines, workers compensation, cyber, professional liability, or property underwritingProfessional insurance credentials such as CPCU, AU, ARM, AINS, or equivalentStrong attention to detail in documentation-heavy underwriting environments Why This OpportunityApply insurance underwriting expertise to structured remote project workContribute to high-quality underwriting review, risk assessment, and documentation analysisWork on flexible, project-based assignments aligned with your professional backgroundUse your underwriting judgment in a focused, detail-oriented consulting environmentRemote structure with competitive hourly compensation Contract DetailsIndependent contractor roleFully remote with flexible schedulingPart-time commitment depending on project availabilityCompetitive rates between $75-$105 per hour depending on expertiseWeekly payments via Stripe or WiseProjects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performanceWork will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution About the Platform This opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
