Java / Elastic Developer

Responsibilities Design and implement scalable Java microservices that process complex geospatial datasets to support reliable and responsive mapping applications
Develop Spring Boot based APIs that enable secure access to geospatial services and ensure consistent integration with internal and external systems
Optimize data ingestion and retrieval workflows on Elastic DB to deliver low latency access to large volumes of spatial and non spatial data
Configure and maintain robust data models for vector and raster geospatial content to improve analytical accuracy and map rendering quality
Collaborate with product and domain teams to translate location intelligence requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans for microservices
Conduct detailed performance tuning of Java code, database queries and storage access patterns to enhance throughput and reduce infrastructure cost
Implement automated test suites and quality checks for microservices and APIs to maintain reliability and stability across production environments
Create monitoring and alerting solutions that track microservice health, storage performance and geospatial data quality for proactive issue detection
Document service contracts, data flows and operational runbooks to support maintainability and smooth handover across distributed engineering teams
Coordinate with security and compliance stakeholders to apply encryption, access controls and audit mechanisms for sensitive geospatial information
Guide peers on best practices for microservices design, Spring Boot configuration and Elastic db usage to promote consistent engineering standards
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure solutions remain modular, extensible and aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines
Analyze production incidents related to geospatial services and drive root cause resolution efforts that prevent recurrence and improve platform resilience
