In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and maintaining accurate cancer registry data in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of oncology data abstraction, medical terminology, and hospital workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesAbstract and code cancer cases from medical records in accordance with established guidelinesMaintain and manage the hospital’s tumor registry database with a high level of accuracyEnsure compliance with reporting standards set by national and state regulatory agenciesPerform case finding, follow-up, and data quality auditsCollaborate with physicians, oncology teams, and other healthcare staff to ensure complete and accurate data capturePrepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholdersParticipate in cancer committee meetings and support cancer program initiativesMonitor patient outcomes and survival data for quality improvement and research purposesEnsure timely reporting of cases and adherence to registry deadlinesAssist in training staff on documentation and registry requirementsStay current with changes in oncology coding standards, registry requirements, and compliance guidelinesSupport clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processesRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of Tumor Registry experience in an acute care hospital or equivalent settingStrong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiologyExperience with cancer data abstraction and registry softwareEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCertifications & LicensureCTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) or ODS (Oncology Data Specialist) certification requiredRHIA or RHIT (or eligibility) requiredNational Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) Certificate.Benefits:Pride Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, , legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
