Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
Assist in the assessment and observation of patients’ mental and physical health status through continuous monitoring and documentation.
Implement behavior management techniques to promote safety and positive patient outcomes.
Provide direct patient care, including medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, de-escalating situations to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient observations, treatments, and responses in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other team members to develop and execute individualized care plans.
Support patients with disabilities or special needs by delivering tailored behavioral health interventions and assistance.
Monitor patient progress regularly, noting changes in behavior or condition and reporting significant findings promptly.
Participate in hospital or correctional facility medical clinics, adhering to all safety protocols and medical procedures.
Engage in ongoing training related to psychiatric care, medical terminology, crisis intervention, and behavioral health best practices.
Qualifications
Valid license as a Psychiatric Technician or equivalent certification from an accredited program.
Proven experience working in acute care settings such as hospitals or correctional facility medical clinics.
Strong knowledge of psychiatry principles, crisis intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly preferred.
Familiarity with patient observation methods, psychiatric care procedures, and medication administration protocols.
Ability to accurately maintain medical records and understand medical terminology relevant to psychiatric treatment.
Excellent skills in patient monitoring, behavioral health assessment, and documentation accuracy.
Prior hospital experience or corrections facility medical clinic experience is advantageous.
