Principal Software Engineer (Python/Kubernetes)

This role focuses on building scalable solutions using Python, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices, with additional work in C++ and exposure to RF-related systems.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in full lifecycle software development, cloud-native technologies, and Agile environments, along with the ability to lead technical efforts and mentor engineering teams.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and enhance complex software systems based on mission and system requirementsDevelop backend services and applications using Python and C++Deploy and manage applications in containerized environments using KubernetesBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automated deployment processesUtilize Git for version control and collaborate within Agile sprint-based development cyclesAnalyze user requirements to define system design and performance objectivesDevelop and optimize algorithms to meet system performance and functional requirementsDebug and resolve software defects and performance issuesIntegrate software components into new or existing systems and environmentsDevelop and execute test procedures and validate system performanceDesign and implement database queries and data processing logicCollaborate with system and hardware engineers to define system interfaces and requirementsEvaluate software design trade-offs and recommend improvementsLead or support software development teams and ensure delivery aligns with project requirementsProvide technical guidance and contribute to process improvements and best practicesRequired QualificationsMust be fully cleared with a recent MD polygraphMust be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this postingBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)20+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs of similar scope and complexityStrong programming experience in PythonExperience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized environmentsExperience using Git and working within CI/CD pipelinesExperience working in Agile/Sprint-based development environmentsExperience with C++ development within the past 10 yearsBasic knowledge or exposure to RF systems or communications technologiesExperience developing, testing, and maintaining complex software systemsStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skillsDesired QualificationsExperience working in distributed or cloud-native environmentsExperience leading development teams or mentoring junior engineersFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and automated deployment frameworks#CJFantom Corp is a Software Development, Agile Cloud, Cyber Security (Risk Management, Assessments & Authorization (A&A)), Data, AI Platform (Computer Vision Models), Podcasting Media Services, and IT Services provider.
