Job Description Job purposeThe Shipping Material Handler supports CandyCo’s outbound shipping operations by preparing, labeling, and staging products for shipment. This entry-level role assists with loading trucks, following lot code and labeling requirements, and ensuring customer orders are prepared accurately and on time. The Shipping Material Handler works under direct supervision and helps maintain shipping accuracy and safety standards while learning CandyCo’s systems and processes.Duties and responsibilitiesPick, prepare, and stage CandyCo products for outbound shipments following FEFO practicesAssist with loading trucksBuild and wrap pallets to company and customer standardsProperly label cartons, pallets or other shipping containers meeting CandyCo and customer specificationsUse CandyCo systems, handheld scanners, ERP/WMS for inventory movement and order completionVerify counts and order details against pick lists or other documentationMaintain a safe, clean, and organized dock and work areaCommunicate with the Logistics team to ensure orders meet customer requirementsPerform clerical duties such as filing shipping records or updating shipping information in databases.Works under close supervision and follows detailed instructions from senior staff or supervisors.Work in a team to ensure 98% or greater on-time/in full delivery.Perform other duties as assigned to support the shipping team.Qualifications1+ years of forklift experience; stand-up forklift experience is a bonus6+ months of shipping or warehouse experienceWorks well under changing deadlines; organized and proactiveMeets high customer requirements with accuracy and consistencyPerforms effectively both independently and as part of a teamComfortable handlingWorking conditionsMust be able to work any and all shifts as directed.Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including holidays and weekends.Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures.Physical requirementsMust wear non-slip, safety-resistant work shoes.Participation in mandatory pre-shift stretches and exercises.Proper use of required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets (if needed), and safety gloves.Must wear all required PPE when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection.Physical ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.Must possess the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.Direct reportsNoneCandyCo is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
