Supervisor - Office of Educator Effectiveness JobID: 2309Position Type:Instructional -Admin - Central Office/Supervisor - Central OfficeDate Posted:7/17/2025Location:Office of Recruitment - 317Additional Information: Show/HideNEWARK BOARD OF EDUCATIONHUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES765 BROAD STREET, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY 07102ROGER LEON, SUPERINTENDENTSupervisor - Office of Educator Effectiveness(Pending availability of funds and Superintendent's approval)The State District Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Supervisor - Office of Educator Effectiveness.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSMaster's Degree from an accredited college or university.New Jersey Permanent Supervisor's Certificate.A minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience.Two (2) years in a position which involves evaluating teachers, professional development preferred, i.e. vice principal, literacy or mathematics coach, department chair, etc.Knowledge of the New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers and School Leaders, the New Jersey Professional Development Standards, and the New Jersey Student Learning StandardsKnowledge of "Best Teaching Practices" as identified in research.BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the Director of Educator Effectiveness (Instructional)Support the development of district leaders and teachers through monthly conferences.Collaborate with Teaching and Learning, and Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Testing to ensure that staff development initiatives are based on student achievement data and needs of staff members.Provide orientation and on-going support for novice teachers.Provide on-going support to Mentor Teachers.Ensure that all NBOE school leaders and teachers are made aware of professional development requirements set forth by the State of New Jersey and are informed of professional development opportunities.Facilitate the continual learning of school leaders and teachers through collaborative enterprises with local colleges and universitiesFacilitate the work of district committees involved in professional development activities.Oversee the implementation of a support program for veteran teachers.Support school leaders with norming of formal/informal observations, as needed.Respond to requests from principals and department heads for the creation of customized professional development and facilitation services.Observe, support, and evaluate office personnel as assigned.Perform related duties as required.REPORTS TO: Director of Educator EffectivenessSALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND UNION AFFILIATION1. Salary: The salary for this position is $107,500-$143,500.2. Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months3. Union Affiliation: C.A.S.A.
