Power Electronics Engineer

Power Electronics EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our clients engineering team in Boston MA. In this role, you will design and develop high-voltage AC-DC and DC-DC module products up to 60kV and 500W, working across the full product lifecycle from concept through field performance. You will be a key technical contributor who takes ownership of product success and drives continuous improvement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and analyse AC-DC and DC-DC high-voltage module products and subsystems/circuits, primarily up to 60kV and 500W, meeting specifications, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goalsDiagnose issues of diverse scope relating to design, field performance, reliability, and test yields; recommend and implement effective corrective actionsAssume full responsibility for product success in customers' applications, proactively identifying and addressing issues as neededFollow key engineering procedures including the Product Development Process and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processCollaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and programme management teams to deliver products on time and to specificationQUALIFICATIONSTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of operational amplifiers and analog circuit designFamiliarity with power supply design and developmentExperience with firmware development is a plusExperience identifying and selecting safety-critical components in support of ECO activitiesProfessional CompetenciesDemonstrated good judgement in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutionsProven professional skills as an experienced electrical engineer with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies/proceduresAbility to work with minimal supervision, taking initiative on new assignmentsStrong independent problem-solving skills for complex technical challengesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills; collaborative and effective as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to influence and negotiate with others in complex or ambiguous situationsEXPERIENCEMinimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical engineerDemonstrated experience in high-voltage power electronics design (AC-DC and/or DC-DC)Experience with safety-critical component selection and engineering change order activitiesEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline requiredMaster's degree or equivalent advanced qualification is advantageous
