Location: Onsite in Denver, CO
Salary: $115-145k DOE
Position Overview
Lead and deliver commercial and/or civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout by managing scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety. The Construction Project Manager coordinates internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to specification while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full project lifecycle including preconstruction planning, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
Develop and control project budgets and estimates; perform cost tracking, forecasting and variance analysis to achieve financial targets.
Perform quantity surveying tasks, prepare takeoffs and review subcontractor and vendor bids for accuracy and completeness.
Oversee subcontractor selection, coordination and performance; manage scopes of work, daily coordination and resolution of onsite issues.
Lead procurement and materials management to ensure timely delivery, storage, tracking and cost control of materials and equipment.
Conduct regular site supervision, monitor construction quality, ensure adherence to drawings and specifications and enforce OSHA and other safety requirements.
Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, punch lists and other project documentation to maintain project progress and quality control.
Coordinate permitting, inspections and commissioning activities with authorities having jurisdiction and client representatives to secure approvals and final acceptance.
Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; implement corrective actions and lessons learned to reduce schedule and cost exposure.
Utilize BIM for coordination, clash detection and to improve construction sequencing and communication among design and field teams.
Implement lean construction practices to optimize workflows, reduce waste and improve productivity.
Prepare and present regular project reports to clients and senior management; maintain accurate project records and asbuilt documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of handson construction project management experience (commercial, institutional or civil projects preferred).
Proven experience in project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar) and proficiency in producing and managing CPM schedules.
Strong estimating, cost control and budgeting experience with the ability to perform quantity takeoffs and value engineering.
Experience with contract administration, subcontractor management and procurement processes.
Knowledge of materials management, logistics planning and supplier coordination.
Experience managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, punch lists and commissioning activities.
Familiarity with permitting processes, inspections and authorities having jurisdiction.
Practical understanding of lean construction principles and techniques.
