Job Description
We're looking for a licensed PE with 8+ years of commercial site development experience to lead projects from concept through approval. You\'ll own the engineering decisions, client relationships, and sealed deliverables, while working remotely with a lean, high-performing team focused on outcomes over hours.
Responsibilities
Design grading, drainage, paving, and utility layouts for commercial developments and warehouses
Prepare water, sewer, and stormwater systems; run hydraulic analysis and detention basin design
Prepare plat approvals, site plans, and development submittals
Review and seal all engineering deliverables as the responsible PE
Serve as primary client contact with developers, municipalities, and reviewing agencies
N evigate local, county, and state permitting requirements
Keep projects on schedule and on budget without compromising quality
Mentor junior engineers and support their development toward PE licensure
Contribute to proposals and business development efforts
Qualifications
Required
PE license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering
8+ years of commercial site development experience
Must be based in Texas
Strong skills in site grading, drainage design, and stormwater management
Experience designing water, sewer, and utility systems
Background in commercial projects (warehouses, retail, mixed-use)
Knowledge of plat preparation and municipal approval processes
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with stormwater modeling software (HydroCAD, StormCAD, or SSA)
Strong communication skills for client-facing work
Texas-based candidates only
Preferred
Experience with TCEQ regulations
Master-planned community development background
Experience across both private development and municipal utility projects
Track record of mentoring engineers toward PE licensure
Reports to: CEO / Principal Engineer
Expected Salary: $175,000 – $215,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
