JOB TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT NON-EXEMPT: YES FULL-TIME: YES GRADE: G1-G6 ($22.50- $26.09) JOB SUMMARY: The person employed in this capacity will perform his/her duties under the direction of the Human Resources Director. Assist the Human Resources Director in an administrative capacity in the areas of recruitment, placement, training of prospective full-time, part-time and temporary employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Process, copy, distribute and file documents, forms alphabetically in standard file cabinets. Assist prospective employees in completing applications for employment. Develop, post, and advertises position vacancies as assigned; assist in the coordination of recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes. Assist in the administration of the Police and Fire examinations. Service employees' needs through direct deposit by signing up employees and notifying payroll. Prepare separation papers on employees. Set up and update employee profiles in the Human Resources Information System Conduct exit interviews as assigned and according to a prescribed routine. Assist in distributing applications to the different departments when there is a position available. Collect, sort, and process mail. Create and maintain employee personnel files (electronic and hard copy) Request proper documentation from employees for sick leave usage. Administer and track employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Parental Leave in accordance with federal, state, and organizational policies Provide employees with information and required notices related to FMLA and Parental Leave Coordinate certification forms, medical documentation, and return-to-work paperwork Monitor leave usage and maintain accurate leave records Communicate with supervisors regarding employee leave status and return-to-work dates Ensure confidentiality of medical and leave-related information Assist the Human Resources Director in processing the paperwork for the employee's retirement. Performs all other duties as may be required by the Human Resources Director. TOOLS/EQUIPMENT: Computer, telephone, fax machine, typewriter, copier, postage machine, and 10-key calculator. REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSE: High School Diploma or GED, plus two (2) or more years college education with an emphasis in Human Resources/Relations or Psychology. Valid Driver's License. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Three (3) years of experience in the area of Personnel Development and/or Human Resources/Human Relations. Some knowledge of modern policies and practices of human resource administration; basic understanding of employee classification, compensation and benefits, recruitment, selection, training, and labor relations; Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
