Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment in alignment with district and campus expectations.Education/Certification: High school diploma or GEDValid Texas educational aide certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematicsAbility to work well with children with diverse needs, including students with disabilitiesKnowledge of general classroom management practicesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to maintain confidentialityExperience: Experience working with children preferredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Provide classroom coverage for teachers attending ARD committee meetings.Assist in implementing teacher-directed lesson plans and instructional activities.Help students master instructional materials and reinforce learning concepts.Provide support to students receiving special education services, including implementation of accommodations and modifications as directed.Help manage student behavior and maintain a structured learning environment.Monitor students during assigned periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.Assist with transitions, routines, and supervision of students in various settings.Work with individual students or small groups to support learning and engagement.Adapt to various classroom assignments, including general education and special education settings.Assist with instructional materials and classroom organization as needed.Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.Participate in staff development and training as required.Follow district safety protocols and campus procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneWORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stressWork with frequent interruptionsPhysical demands/environmental factors: Frequent standing, walking, bending, and liftingMay assist students with physical, behavioral, or instructional needsExposure to various environmental conditions depending on assignmentThe foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
