Job Description
Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Swiss Machinist / Manufacturing Technician to support precision machining operations in a manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for machine setup, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within the machining department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with high-precision metal machining, quality systems, and ISO/GMP standards.Key Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and maintain advanced CNC machining equipment, including:- Citizen LathesTsugami LathesIndex multi-spindle lathes3, 4, and 5-axis production equipmentRobo DrillsMill Turn machinesHorizontal and vertical millsPerform machine offsets, tool changes, and process adjustments to maximize production efficiency.Set up both legacy and new production jobs for stable, continuous operation.Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using:- MicroscopesMicrometersCalipersPin/thread gaugesComparatorsMicro-HiteCMM systemsVision systemsPerform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.Troubleshoot complex machine and process issues while leading problem-solving initiatives.Complete and maintain detailed quality and production documentation in compliance with ISO 13485 and GMP standards.Manage material traceability, identification, and control of conforming/nonconforming materials.Support quality assurance initiatives, including:- AQL inspectionsFirst article inspectionsQualification runs for NPI projectsGauge R&R activities using Zeiss or similar CMM systemsUtilize ERP and QMS systems for production, inspection, and traceability documentation.Mentor and train junior machinists and operators.Make basic FANUC robot program adjustments.Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with PPE and occupational safety standards.Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and quality best practices.Qualifications:Experience in Class I, II, or III medical device manufacturing or similarly regulated industries.Strong knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485, and quality management systems.Advanced CNC machining, setup, and troubleshooting experience.Expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T, and technical documentation.Proficiency with calibrated inspection tools and equipment.Experience with ERP/QMS software systems.Strong mechanical aptitude with preventive maintenance and repair capabilities.Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across Manufacturing, QA, and R&D teams.Preferred Skills:Zeiss or equivalent CMM programming/operationFANUC robotics experienceNew Product Introduction (NPI) experienceMedical device or highly regulated manufacturing backgroundWhat We Offer:Competitive compensationCareer growth opportunitiesAdvanced manufacturing environmentCollaborative team cultureOpportunity to work on high-precision medical device componentsYou should be proficient in:GD&TEquipment TroubleshootingTroubleshooting SkillsCNC ProgrammingCNC Machine RepairG-Code M-CodeCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverMachine Geometry & AlignmentMachine Setups for Production RunsMachines & technologies you'll use:CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Doosan, Takisawa, Dmg Mori Seiki)CNC Swiss Lathe (Star, Citizen, Tsugami)CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Dmg Mori Seiki, Mazak, Okuma, Doosan)
