Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A registered nurse (RN) with specialized experience in progressive care is needed for a travel opportunity on a stepdown/PCU unit focusing primarily on cardiac and acute care patients. Situated conveniently for access to larger metropolitan areas, it combines small-town charm with ample opportunities for exploration and recreation during your time off.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.Administer medications safely, including drips such as heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone.Interpret telemetry strips using waveform monitors and central monitoring systems.Manage patients with cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF, post-operative care, respiratory issues, stroke, and renal conditions.Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and patient families to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs.Serve as a clinical resource and support for nursing staff, orienting and educating as needed.Desired Qualifications & ExperienceCurrent RN license with compact state eligibility.Minimum 1 year RN experience; 6 months in acute care preferred.BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required; Critical Care or Progressive Care certification preferred.Previous cardiovascular or stepdown unit experience strongly preferred.Ability to safely manage complex patients including multiple drips, chest tubes, and advanced respiratory modalities.Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available).Additional DetailsSchedule: 13-week travel contract.Patient ratios: Typically 1:4-5 days, 1:5-6 nights.PCA support is provided but may vary based on staffing.Critical care skills including hemodynamic monitoring and temporary pacing highly valuable.Take the next step in your nursing career by applying to this demanding and rewarding travel RN opportunity.
