SummaryJob DescriptionJob DescriptionDevelop broad understanding and application of the automotive industry standards and continually strive for improvements and excellence in all facets of the business. Ensure quality standards of parts provided by suppliers and in-house operations.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the resolution of production related issues between areas.On site supplier process reviews and audits.Monitor and review current internal and external quality indicators and drive continuous improvement in an automotive environment.Plan for and ensure the quality of supplied parts through collaborative partnerships within the company and with suppliers.Perform activities related to successful completion of Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR).Prepare detailed plans, reports, and schedules for the Quality Department.Work well with cross functional teams.Implement and enforce all policies and standards.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the supplier quality field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired SkillsStrong self-responsibility, planning, and organizational skills.Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Analytical problem solving and effective decision-making skills.Ability to perform multi-tasks with multiple priorities within a designated time frame.Broad understanding and application of the automotive industry standards.Ability to understand and meet diverse backgrounds of customers’ needs and global business.Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in both exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.Experience with SAP system .Possess technical skills and knowledge of quality control systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Understand Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).Experience with vehicle Electrical systems such as electrical control units, operating diagnostic and data recording tools, experience with INCA is desirable, radio and infotainment systems and wiring harnesses.Experience with vehicle Drivetrain systems such as transmissions, gearboxes, drive axles, and dynamic testing.High level of knowledge in automotive part responsible commodity, and ability to learn other part commodities.Physical RequirementsWork is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.Flsa Status/Working Schedule Location: West Point.
