This position ensures meals are packaged accurately, handledsafely, and distributed in accordance with USDA SFSP regulations and food safety standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMeasure, portion, and bag menu items according to established serving sizes and programrequirements.Package food items and assemble complete meal kits following the approved menu andmeal pattern.Maintain accurate portion control to ensure each meal kit meets SFSP meal requirements.Follow all safe food handling procedures, including proper handwashing, glove use, andsanitation practices.Monitor and maintain appropriate food temperatures during preparation, packaging,storage, and distribution.Use coolers, ice packs, and approved holding methods to keep foods within requiredtemperature ranges.Label, organize, and stage meal kits for efficient distribution.Assist with distributing meal kits to program participants in a safe, organized, andfriendly manner.Follow all SFSP policies, procedures, and USDA program regulations.Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining a safe and organized food preparationand distribution area.Work as part of a team to ensure meals are prepared and distributed efficiently and onschedule.Food Safety ResponsibilitiesFollow all time and temperature control guidelines for potentially hazardous foods.Ensure hot and cold foods remain within safe temperature ranges during holding anddistribution.Report any food safety concerns or temperature issues immediately to supervisors.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work surfaces, equipment, and packaging areas.
