Job DescriptionMaintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout the store in adherence to company standards and health department regulations. Clean and maintain exterior front entrance and sidewalk conditions, practice safe food handling procedure, and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesProvide customer service and communicate effectively with store associatesPractice safe food handling proceduresUtilize and operate equipment to clean and maintain floor conditions throughout the storeClean public rest rooms and fill towel, tissue and soap dispensers; empty and dispose of trash throughout storeClean walls, vents and ceilings; exterminate rodents and insects; dismantle, clean and reassemble refrigerated casesMove equipment and non-stationary displays to facilitate cleaningReplace light bulbs and fluorescent tubesClean and maintain cleaning and sanitation supplies in departmentsShampoo and vacuum mats and rugs; follow after hand scrubber and trail mopsMix cleansers and sanitizers properly for best results and safetySpread ice melt and shovel snow from front entrance and sidewalks as neededPerform minor maintenance on equipment when neededAbility to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environmentAbility to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative mannerAbility to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business informationAbility to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issuesProvide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adultsMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsMINIMUMAbility to read a technical manual, retain, and comprehendAbility to perform basic math functions such as addition, multiplication, subtraction and divisionReading/writing skills to complete formsAbility to work as a team memberDemonstrated ability to communicate and comprehendAbility to utilize safety awareness and practicesGood customer service skillsDESIREDHigh School Diploma or GEDAny previous related work experienceAbout UsBased in Colorado, City Market merged with The Kroger Company in 1983.
