Cassandra Database Administrator

Overview In this role you will design, implement and sustain Cassandra-based data solutions for mission-critical apps. You will work within a team to deploy and support multi-datacenter Cassandra clusters on AWS, focusing on data modeling, performance, and reliability. You’ll tackle complex distributed-system challenges and contribute to scalable, enterprise-grade NoSQL architectures. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape how data drives 24/7 operations in a cloud-enabled environment. ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and support Cassandra operational dataSet up and manage Cassandra clusters across multi-datacenter environmentsMonitor performance, tune and troubleshoot Cassandra clustersDevelop data models and Cassandra queries; create materialized viewsOversee data migration and ensure secure, reliable cluster connectivityLeverage knowledge of Cassandra internals (gossip, hinted handoffs, read repairs, Merkle trees) to optimize systemsCollaborate with teams to support NoSQL and related data technologies (e.g., Solr)Identify hardware and software issues related to Cassandra deployments Key requirements5+ years of Cassandra DBA experienceHands-on Cassandra on AWSExperience in cluster setup and management for enterprise environmentsStrong knowledge of Cassandra internals and performance tuningExperience in data modeling and writing Cassandra queries; materialized viewsExperience with Solr and other NoSQL (MongoDB)Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; or 3 years per year of education in lieu of degree7+ years IT experienceCassandra database administrationAWS (Amazon cloud)NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)Performance tuning for distributed databasesData modeling in CassandraCassandra queries and materialized views
