Are you ready to take off on your next career with us?Job SummaryWFS is seeking a Ground Operations Business Inelligence Engineering to serve as the primary technical owner of Ground Handling analytics and reporting across North America.This individual contributor role designs, builds, and maintains scalable analytics solutions supporting Ground Operations performance, KPI tracking, and operational decision-making, combining business intelligence, data engineering fundamentals, and hands-on analytics engineering.The Business Intelligence Engineer WillOwn and enhance the Ground Power BI reporting ecosystemIndependently design and build small-to-medium data pipelines using Python and Microsoft FabricPerform end-to-end root cause analysis across systems, databases, APIs, Fabric pipelines, and reporting layersPartner with Operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsAct as a technical bridge between Ground Operations and the Data & Analytics teamThis role requires strong independent problem-solving ability, technical depth, and the ability to communicate complex data issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.After stabilizing and optimizing the reporting landscape, this individual will contribute to automation initiatives and explore innovative uses of AI to improve analytics workflows and operational insights.This position is fully on sire and may be based at one of the following metropolitan airports: Dallas,TX (DFW); Houston, TX (IAH); Newark, NJ (EWR); Seattle, WA (SEA); Denver, CO (DEN)Key ResponsibilitiesAnalytics Ownership & ReportingServe as the primary owner of all Ground Handling Power BI reports in North AmericaDesign, develop, deploy, and maintain Power BI solutions within Microsoft FabricBuild optimized data models using best practices in DAX and semantic modelingImplement performance tuning and reliability improvements for reports and datasetsManage report refresh failures, bug fixes, and production support independentlyAnalytics Engineering & Data PipelinesDesign and build small-to-medium data pipelines using Python and Microsoft Fabric (Data Pipelines, Notebooks)Develop production-ready Python scripts with logging, monitoring, and error handlingIntegrate and validate REST API endpoints (authentication, pagination, payload validation, troubleshooting)Collaborate with Data Engineering on larger pipelines while independently owning smaller solutionsSupport CI/CD best practices for Power BI and Fabric (experience preferred; ability to learn required)Business Partnership & CommunicationWork directly with Ground Operations leaders to gather requirements and propose multiple solution options with clear trade-offsTranslate technical findings into concise, business-ready explanationsDocument technical designs, root cause findings, and data logic clearlyServe as a subject matter expert (SME) or progressing SME of Ground source systems and KPIsIterate with end users to continuously improve reporting usability and valueContinuous Improvement & InnovationResearch and evaluate new reporting and analytics tools where appropriatePromote best practices in analytics engineering and solution designApply an automation-first mindset to reporting and operational workflowsExplore innovative uses of AI to enhance analytics development, documentation, troubleshooting, and insight generationMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)3–5 years of hands-on experience in analytics, BI, or analytics engineering rolesStrong SQL skills, including complex query writing, stored procedure validation, and performance troubleshooting3+ years of experience using Python for data processing and pipeline developmentExperience working with REST APIs (authentication, error handling, debugging)Strong experience developing and maintaining Power BI solutions (Power BI Service, data modeling, DAX)Experience working in Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks)Ability to independently troubleshoot data and reporting issues across multiple systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred SkillsExperience with CI/CD practices for Power BI and analytics solutionsExperience with version control (e.g., Git)Experience supporting operational or logistics environmentsFamiliarity with advanced analytics or automation use casesExposure to AI-driven analytics workflows or automation toolingExperience collaborating cross-functionally with Data Engineering teamsPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsRemain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.Walk short distances.Reach above and/or below shoulder.Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.Perks & BenefitsWant your pay in advance?
