We are seeking a hands-on Design Engineer Coordinator to lead tooling design and lifecycle management that supports new product launches and daily manufacturing operations. This role develops fixtures, gauges, and tooling solutions that are safe, accurate, cost-effective, and compliant with customer and AS9100 quality standards while coordinating projects across Engineering, Quality, vendors, and the Tool Room. Key Responsibilities: Design tooling, fixtures, and gauges using 3D CAD Coordinate tooling work orders, vendors, and timelines Maintain tooling records, specifications, and certified documentation Support quoting, purchasing, and project execution Partner with Quality on FAI, CTL, and compliance Establish preventive maintenance and drive continuous improvement Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions Education/Training: Required (minimum) Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field OR equivalent hands-on tooling/design experience Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Also Valuable CAD certifications (SolidWorks/CATIA) Tool & Die, Machining, or Tool Room apprenticeship AS9100/QMS or manufacturing compliance training Desired Skills & Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Engineering Technology or equivalent hands-on tooling/design experience 3–5+ years of tooling, fixture, or manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment Strong 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks and/or CATIA) with tooling and fixture design experience Knowledge of tool room operations, machining methods, and manufacturability principles Experience coordinating vendors, quotes, and project timelines Familiarity with AS9100/QMS, FAI, CTL, and regulated manufacturing environments Ability to create tooling prints, BOMs, and technical documentation Organized, detail-oriented, and effective cross-functional communicator Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills This position does not support visa sponsorship.
