A fast-growing, multi-entity professional services platform is seeking a hands-on Controller to build and lead an internal accounting function during a period of significant growth and operational transformation. This role will partner closely with executive leadership and play a key role in scaling the accounting infrastructure, improving processes, and supporting ongoing acquisitions and integrations.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and owning accounting operations within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across a multi-entity organizationLead GAAP financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and management reportingBuild and scale an internal accounting function while transitioning away from an outsourced accounting modelOversee AP, AR, payroll, treasury, expense management, and cash forecasting activitiesPartner closely with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and strategic initiativesLead annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisorsSupport acquisitions and integrations, including onboarding acquired entities into accounting systems and reporting structuresImplement and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable operational processesDrive automation and process improvements across accounting systems and workflowsMentor and build out the accounting team as the organization continues to growQualificationsCPA required; Big 4 or reputable mid-tier public accounting background strongly preferred10+ years of progressive accounting experience within professional services, financial services, consulting, advisory, or related industriesHands-on controllership experience within a multi-entity environmentStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, audit management, and operational accountingExperience leading process improvements, system implementations, or accounting function transformationsMaturity and leadership presence to operate independently and build scalable infrastructureStrong systems experience required; Sage Intacct experience highly preferredPrior experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or high-growth environments is a plusExperience within wealth management, RIA, or advisory environments is helpful but not requiredWhy This OpportunityHigh visibility role partnering directly with executive leadershipOpportunity to build and shape the accounting function from the ground upStrong combination of operational ownership and strategic exposureFlexible hybrid environment with leadership open to candidates outside of Los Angeles who can travel onsite periodicallySignificant long-term upside through bonus and equity/profit participation structure
