Associate, Investment Banking - Mergers & Acquisitions

Job DescriptionWells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our Mergers & Acquisitions group in New York City. As an Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the execution of transactions across a broad range of industry verticals.Investment Banking Associates are an integral part of the Investment Banking team. They are directly involved in the origination, structuring and execution of investment banking products and services for existing and prospective clients. Associates participate in client meetings, due diligence visits and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. The Associate provides these services as part of a team consisting of Analysts, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors.In this role, you will:Demonstrate well-developed knowledge of the entire suite of M&A products and services including buy sides, sell sides, carve-outs, spin offs, fairness opinions and activism & defense; this position is directly involved in the origination and execution for existing clients and prospectsAssist or drive the delivery of full range of M&A products and services to clients at the executive management level, managing client relationships, and executing mandated assignmentsParticipate in analyzing companies, develop strategies for clients, pulling market and industry research across the M&A product suitReceive direction from a manager and exercise independent judgment while developing an understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for Investment BankingManage the various product workstreams and coordination with coverage banking partnersCollaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goalsDevelop and train Investment Banking Analysts in M&A valuation and processesRequired Qualifications:2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:2+ years of M&A experience, including large-cap public transactions at a bulge bracket or elite boutique investment bank.MBA and/or undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited college or universityStrong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and accuracyStrong financial modeling skillsAbility to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment and manage junior bankersAbility to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environmentStrong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience training and mentoring junior talentJob Expectations:Ability to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving resultsRegistration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be acceptedRegistration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be acceptedRegistration for FINRA Series 7 (or 79) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
