Director, Marketing & Strategic Communications

The Sarcoma Foundation of America seeks a strategic, creative, and mission-driven Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications to lead integrated communications and marketing efforts that expand awareness, deepen engagement, and support fundraising and program goals. This leader will shape the organization’s voice, strengthen brand visibility, and help position SFA as a trusted leader in the sarcoma community.What You’ll DoLead and evolve a bold, integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with SFA’s mission and growth priorities.Develop compelling messaging, storytelling, and campaigns that engage patients, families, donors, partners, advocates, and the broader sarcoma community.Oversee brand strategy and ensure consistency across digital, print, media, and event-related communications.Guide content development across website, email, social media, newsletters, media materials, and campaign assets.Partner closely with executive leadership, development, and program teams to advance organizational priorities and fundraising goals.Use data, audience insights, and performance metrics to strengthen reach, engagement, and campaign effectiveness.Support media relations, public visibility, and thought leadership opportunities that elevate SFA’s voice and impact.Lead, mentor, and collaborate with staff and external partners to deliver high-quality communications initiatives.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree required.10+ years of marketing and strategic communications experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.Proven success building and executing integrated communications and marketing strategies that drive growth and engagement.Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and brand leadership skills.Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring high-performing teams.Comfort working with digital platforms, analytics, and communications technology tools.Nonprofit and health-related experience preferred.Passion for mission-driven work and interest in advancing the sarcoma community.Work ArrangementThis is a full-time/exempt position. The staff works primarily remotely; however, some staff travel to the office infrequently throughout the month to prepare events and complete other tasks. This position can be fully remote.
