This role is designed to provide cross-functional transaction support across the accounting organization, ensuring business continuity and promoting work-life balance for the team.The Special Projects Accountant will serve as a flexible operational resource, stepping in across transaction processing functions as needed during peak periods, absences, and special initiatives. The role will also support system updates and enhancements through structured user acceptance testing in partnership with the Financial Systems Administrator. In addition, this position will assist with periodic close responsibilities and support the development of a centralized procurement function.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, process exposure, and continuous improvement within a Shared Services environment.What You’ll DoCross-Functional Transaction SupportServe as trained backup across core transaction processing areas, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, T&E, procurement, and invoice processingProvide coverage during PTO, high-volume periods, and special projectsExecute full-cycle transaction processing accurately and timelyIdentify and recommend process efficiencies and control enhancementsSystems & User Acceptance Testing SupportSupport the Financial Systems Administrator in user acceptance testing (UAT) for ERP and financial system updates, enhancements, and implementationsExecute tests to validate end-to-end transactional workflows and data integrityPerform transaction-level testing within SAP, Concur, and BlackLineDocument test results, identify issues, and escalate findings appropriatelyAssist with validation efforts during system upgrades, patches, and process changes to minimize operational disruptionClose & Accounting SupportPrepare and post journal entriesPerform balance sheet reconciliationsSupport month-end and periodic close activitiesProvide documentation support for audit requestsProcurement SupportSupport the continued development of the procurement functionAssist in standardizing purchasing and invoice workflowsHelp document procedures and strengthen internal controls within procurement processesSpecial Projects & Continuous ImprovementParticipate in process improvement and automation initiativesSupport with administration, data collection and reporting for sustainability related activitiesSupport ad hoc accounting and finance projects assignedWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field2–5 years of progressive accounting experienceExperience in a high-volume or shared services environment preferredExperience with large ERP systemsExperience with the following systems is preferred: SAP (ERP), SAP Concur (T&E, Purchase Requisitions, Invoice Processing) and BlackLine (Account Reconciliations)Proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with strong time management skillsPhysical ConsiderationsAbility to work in a general office environmentAbility to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephoneAbility to work flexible and long hours, as neededTravel ConsiderationsNo travel required for this position.CompensationWhat You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:The base pay range for this position is $70,000 annually to $80,000 annually. This position is designated as bonus eligible, subject to plan terms and conditions.
