About the Role
We are looking for a BIM/VDC Coordinator to join our Virtual Design & Construction team in Herndon, Virginia. This is a full-time, in-person position. Willingness to relocate as needed for company or project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with project teams, both internal and external
Coordinate the workload of yourself and others for one or more projects with VDC Manager(s)
Ensure modeling efforts and deliverables are completed to solve construction issues
Understand and contribute to the VDC coordination schedule by tracking the responsibilities of all relevant stakeholders
Ensure that the team is identifying and resolving coordination conflicts using clash detection in Navisworks
Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings, seeing all items through to completion
Use modeling best practices and company standards to produce accurate models
Conduct quality reviews of modeled scope from others and confirm compliance with the contract documents
Ensure the team is applying concepts from training sessions and lessons learned to facilitate project coordination
Ensure that VDC services are delivered in accordance with our standards and best practices
Train and develop the professional skills of fellow team members
Understand and contribute to VDC goals and company initiatives
Qualifications
Required
3-5 years of BIM/VDC experience working on commercial construction projects
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Computer Graphics, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent combination of training and experience
Willingness to relocate and travel
Proficient with 3D modeling and coordination tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other applicable tools
Strong working knowledge of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules
Strong working knowledge of the construction management process (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings)
Preferred
Outstanding communication and time management skills
Ability to help teammates learn, grow, and develop their professional skills
