Front Desk Specialist

SBA Dermatology, now a part of Sanova Dermatology, is currently searching for a professional, enthusiastic, self-driven Front Office Specialist. The ideal candidate views themselves as a "Director of First Impressions". They should be outgoing and friendly with a gregarious personality and a natural talent for customer service. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Provides excellent customer service to our patients both during their check-in and check-out process Assists in the scheduling of patients, maintaining updated patient charts and facilitating the communication with physician and clinical staff Obtains updated medical history and other necessary outstanding paperwork from established patients Communicates account information to patients regarding balances or credits on their accounts. Processes all payments due after services rendered Represents physician's practice in a professional manner to all external contacts and visitors at all times Supports the goals and objectives of the practice while delivering excellent patient care that is second to none Assures adequate knowledge, teamwork, and efficiency in carrying out tasks Assists in training new front office employees when applicable Assists Operations Manager with other duties as needed EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years medical experience required, dermatology experience is strongly desired Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations Call Center and insurance verification experience is a plus Nextech and/or EMR software experience is desired Self-directed and able to work independently Friendly and courteous at all times Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills Uses consistent good judgment and discretion Passionate about the beauty and aesthetic industry Aptitude to perform cosmetic and medical responsibilities Experience delivering high quality customer service to affluent patients Caring, emphatic and patient Positive attitude, flexibility to work with different personalities, and proven ability to work as team. Warm, friendly, outgoing personality and professional appearance Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while still sensitive to special patient concerns and needs in cosmetic dermatology. Self-starter: desire to learn required skills and take initiative in your training. Strong work ethic: report to work on time, committed to delivering the best medical and customer service experience, willing to go the extra mile for both co-workers and patients. Schedule flexibility: ability to work M-F with no hour restrictions. Ability to work under moderate supervision both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated ability to work in a pleasant and professional manner with patients, coworkers, and supervisors. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Position is in a fast-paced office environment. Correctable eyesight to 20/20 and hearing required. Must be able to sit, stoop, or stand for extended periods of time. May require occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Most work is performed in an office environment and requires both desk and counter work. Frequent contact with employees, patients and outside agencies. HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. - 5:00pm *(required to stay until the last patient checks out); some Saturdays are required.
