About the Opportunity:
The PSC PRE AUTH REPRESENTATIVE is responsible for supporting the Patient Service Center by verifying patient benefits, obtaining necessary authorizations for medical services, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to streamline authorization processes. This role impacts the organization by ensuring timely and accurate authorization management, contributing to operational efficiency and quality service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient benefits and determine authorization requirements
- Secure authorizations for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services
- Address complex authorization issues requiring clinical input or escalation
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal staff and external clients
- Facilitate authorization processes through communication and documentation validation
- Participate in quality management activities to improve departmental metrics
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required 2-4 years of experience in medical facilities, health insurance, or related area
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
- Working knowledge of relevant software and systems
- Advanced customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced call center environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, third-party payer requirements, and healthcare compliance preferred
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Pay: $15.80 - $23.70 per hour, dependent on location, qualifications, and experience
Position may be eligible for a signing bonus for qualified new hires Time and a half pay for observed holidays
