ResponsibilitiesSecond-chair high-exposure trials to fulfill the role of embedded appellate counsel.Assist with motion practice across the department, including pre-trial motions, motions for summary judgment, requests for jury instructions, motions in limine, Daubert motions, motions to compel, motions for protective order, etc.Assist with complex discovery issues.Handle appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and federal appellate courts.Participate in oral arguments and hearings.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in the state of Georgia2-5+ years of relevant litigation/trial/appellate experience, preferably with experience in premises liability and tort defenseStrong work ethicDetermination to meet and exceed expectationsExcellent writing, analytical, research, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and work on multiple cases simultaneouslyAttention to detail, excellent time management, and strong organizational skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clientsWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceMeaningful substantive workDirect access to sophisticated litigation mattersFlexible opportunity for attorneys seeking a long-term appellate-focused practiceCollaborative team environment with significant autonomyQualified candidates should submit a resume, writing sample, and cover letter.
