The National Institutes of Health is seeking a Histocompatibility Technologist/Biologist This is a long-term, full-time, contract position based in Baltimore, MD. This position offers a competitive benefits package.This is a long-term contract position which offers:- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit package- Optional health, vision, and dental plans- Paid leave, paid federal holidays, and 401K plan.- Access to NIH’s unparalleled resources and niche scientific initiativesPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform specimen processing.Extract and quantify DNA using manual and automated methods.Conduct molecular Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing via PCR, SSP, SSO, and SBT technologies.Prepare samples and analyze data for next-generation sequencing (NGS).Prepare agarose gels, run gel electrophoresis, and document results with photographs.Interpret HLA typing results.Support HLA laboratory staff in communication with transplant teams and maintain accurate documentation.Troubleshoot HLA analysis software, database management systems, and laboratory operations.Apply HLA antibody screening methods and interpret results.Collaborate with staff to identify unusual HLA antibody and typing patterns; provide leadership and guidance to help colleagues understand antibody identification and other procedures.REQUIREMENTS:BS in Genetics, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related disiplineMS in Genetics, preferred
