About the role:
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve the core platform services that power our products, AI systems, and edge-connected solutions. This role is for someone who is highly pragmatic, hands-on, and comfortable owning production systems end-to-end. You will help improve simplicity, reliability, observability, and engineering leverage across the platform.
What you’ll do:
- Own the full software development lifecycle across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations
- Build and evolve core platform services with a focus on maintainability, reliability, and operational excellence
- Improve system simplicity, observability, security, incident detection, and incident response
- Design and implement backend services, internal tools, and platform capabilities used across engineering teams
- Evaluate and prioritize technical debt reduction, platform investments, and tooling improvements based on ROILeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity and iteration speed
- Collaborate across software, data, AI/ML, and edge teams to ensure platform services meet evolving needs
- Participate directly in production support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of live systems
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
- Prior startup experience is required
- Strong ownership mentality across the full lifecycle of production systems
- Fluency in Python or Go; experience with other backend languages is a plus
- Experience with data modeling, data processing pipelines, and service-oriented architectures
- Strong judgment and the ability to make pragmatic, well-reasoned technical tradeoffs
- Experience improving reliability, observability, and developer productivity
- Track record of adopting and championing AI tools to improve engineering outcomes
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and infrastructure as code
- Experience with distributed systems, messaging, or event-driven architectures
- Experience supporting AI/ML or edge-connected product environments
- Familiarity with security and production readiness practices
