From proprietary routing systems to our state-of-the-art fulfillment center, every part of our business is designed to deliver unmatched quality, convenience, and care.We partner directly with farmers, fishermen, and artisans to source the highest quality ingredients — then use smart data, automation, and logistics to deliver them at peak freshness.It's grocery shopping reimagined — and we're just getting started.If you're passionate about innovation, care deeply about what people eat, and want to help build the future of food, we'd love to meet you.The RoleThe SAP Senior ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable ABAP solutions and system integrations across SAP ECC and above environments. while also contributing to and supporting enterprise integrations across SAP and external systems.This role plays a critical part in enabling reliable, high-performance integrations between SAP and external systems to support high-volume, time-sensitive operations across supply chain, warehouse, and order fulfillment.This position reports to the Director – SAP.What You'll DoABAP Development & Technical DeliveryDesign, develop, and enhance custom ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and formsSupport and maintain existing custom programs, interfaces, and integrations across SAP ECC systemsDevelop Smart Forms, SAPscript, output management solutions, including label printing (Zebra) and RF integrationsBuild and support Function Modules, RFCs, BAPIs, and IDoc-based interfacesPerform debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of ABAP programsEnsure adherence to SAP development standards, transport management, and code quality practicesCreate and maintain technical documentation aligned with functional and integration requirementsParticipate in code reviews to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainabilityIntegration & Interface ManagementContribute to SAP integration landscape including EDI, SAP PI/PO (or CPI), IDocs, APIs, and file-based interfacesCollaborate with integration teams to design and implement interfaces between SAP and external systemsSupport integrations with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Manhattan or similar platformsWork on EDI transactions such as 850, 855, 856, and 810 and support trading partner integrationsPerform interface monitoring, error handling, reprocessing, and root cause analysisSupport integration testing, UAT, and cutover activities for integration-heavy initiativesEnsure stable, near real-time integrations supporting high-volume, time-critical business processesWork closely with SAP functional analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutionsProvide production support and timely resolution of incidents, defects, and integration issuesCoordinate with middleware teams, external vendors, and partnersSupport SAP upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiativesWhat You'll Bring5+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on ABAP development and integration expertiseExperience working in SAP ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA environmentsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fieldSAP ABAP or integration-related certification preferredStrong experience with integrations using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs, EDI, and PI/PO or CPISolid understanding of ABAP programming including ALV reports, enhancements, modularization, and output managementExperience supporting high-volume, time-critical environments (manufacturing, distribution, or logistics)Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skillsExperience integrating SAP with WMS platforms (e.g., Manhattan or similar)Exposure to EDI transactions (850, 855, 856, 810) and trading partner integrationsKnowledge of SAP modules such as MM, SD, WM/EWM, PP, and FI integration touchpointsExperience with SAP UI5, Java, or NeptuneExperience working with EDI providers and external partnersExperience working closely with functional teams and business stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsOur Values at FreshDirectA Passion for our customersOur customers are at the heart of everything we do.
